Cancer Awareness

Cancer awareness comes in many colors (pink – breast, grey – brain, blue – prostate, etc). It does not discriminate based on age or race. Some cancers can be treated, while others shorten life expectancy to a matter of months, weeks or days. In a very real way, every person is born with a “cancer” called a sin nature (Galatians 5:17) which leads to death (Romans 5:12). Sin is diagnosed based on the Ten Commandments: Ever lied? Stolen anything? Hated someone? Jesus calls hatred murder (Matthew 5:22)! Ever used God’s name carelessly? That is blasphemy and is a very serious offense (Exodus 20:7). Innocent or guilty? Heaven or Hell? God does not want you to go to Hell (1 Timothy 2:4). He loves you so much that, two thousand years ago, God sent His only son Jesus Christ to earth. Jesus lived a perfect life, kept all the Commandments and then willingly became the perfect sacrifice for the sin of the whole world. He died on a cross to pay for your sin (1 John 2:2). Jesus rose from the dead, defeating sin, death and the devil. Sin, like cancer, has to be “removed.” You must be born again (John 3:3). “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.” (Acts 16:31)  Repent and believe the Gospel (Mark 1:15).
